We’re updating the Markham Centre Secondary Plan – and we want to hear from you!

Last year, we held several pop-ups across the City to find out what the community thought of Markham Centre. You told us you loved Markham Centre's proximity to the Rouge River and its shops, restaurants, entertainment venues, and building design. You also told us you wished there were more parks, public gathering spaces, affordable housing, and community services.

This year, we're embarking on the next phase of engagement. As we develop a vision and development options for the future of Markham Centre, we invite you to participate further and give your input on what you want to see in your downtown.

In keeping with Public Health’s recommendation of physical distancing and to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the City has adapted all in-person public engagement to online formats. So this summer, we're holding a series of virtual interactive discussions, with the first one scheduled for Tuesday, July 28, 2020. All members of the public and stakeholders are welcome to participate.

Register here to attend our first virtual discussion on July 28 and help us co-design the future of Markham Centre!

In the meantime, check out our new short video series on the right. You'll learn more about the Secondary Plan and Markham Centre's evolution, achievements, and opportunities.

Want to share your thoughts on the future of Markham Centre? There will always be opportunities to provide your feedback through the tools on this webpage (see below!) or by emailing us at yourmarkhamcentre@markham.ca.
