Toaster Oven fire safety!

Make sure you clean out your toaster oven regularly! We just had an 'incident', but fortunately we always keep a fire extinguisher near any cooking appliance in the kitchen. There was a bit of panic, but with the extinguisher right there at eye level next to the appliance it was easy to deal with the fire.Thankfully nothing was damaged and nobody was hurt, but you never know when things can go wrong, so plan ahead and be safe!

Use a drip tray in the oven!

Drip trays are cheap and can be found at dollar stores. I had an incident where the grease from my baking tray dripped onto the bottom and creating thick clouds of smoke. Learning now I should have kept the oven closed, but I then opened the oven to remove the item. The smoke was unpleasant. This could be avoided with a drip tray.Airfryers can also have a lot of smoke if you make chicken (from the grease). I always place my airfryer under the range hood because of that.
