Artist Bio: Vocalist, Kamancheh & Setar player Born in Tehran, Iran, based in Toronto, Canada. Developed his interest in music and performance during his teenage years, Initially focused on singing and then expanding his portfolio of skills to include Kamancheh and Setar (traditional Persian musical instruments). He is holder of individual awards in playing Persian music instruments, Composition, and supervision of a music ensemble from prestigious festivals in Iran and other countries. While pursuing on engineering, he studied (music theory, harmony, composing, arrangement and etc.) under several prestigious musicians, including world renowned and Silk Road Ensemble, Kayhan Kalhor. Hossein
continued to garner critical acclaim as leader of the band “Sayesar”. Together with his band, he released 3 albums with the following names: 1. Familiar glance 2.Good days 3.Forty nights of solitude. He has performed at several Sofar Sounds Toronto events, a global movement which brings the magic back to live music and gigs in intimate spaces around the world and he is a member of eMERGEnce program 2020 at Small world music center. He managed a traditional concert “Persian music night” and temporary dace performance on December 14th 2019 at Cyrus foundation as a band leader and event
organizer and organized a fusion concert “The Path” on February 22nd at Small world music center as a band leader in Toronto. Hossein’s experience as a band leader, composer, Kamancheh player and singer in festivals in Iran and internationally, continues to delight music fans around the world.
