    B.A.B.E - Music

by MsBridgeySmalls, about 1 year ago

Her voice has the classic seductiveness of a Las Vegas lounge singer, raw emotion you’d expect from Etta or Amy, tone described as a hybrid of Leona and Amel, and vocabulary heavily influenced by Beyoncé and Christina. With such powerful vocals and intense, dynamic stage presence, her passion is palpably infectious and makes you feel as good listening as she does performing. Laying R&B grooves under Jazz chords to support Pop sensibilities, she isn't merely a vocalist; she is a fierce performer with a purpose. Conscious of the seemingly default predominance of men in music, when it comes to her... Continue reading

Artist Bio: Melodramatic costume, theatrical make-up, unsupervised play, and my imagination have always functioned as utopic getaways from the social body I have performed my whole life. In 2001, the seven-year-old I knew as Daniel undoubtedly understood the consequence of deviance. Born and raised in Markham, Ontario, Canada, the masking of my identity was a daily occurrence. I found myself concealing myself only to reveal an exteriority of what I thought normalized boyhood looked like. My entire demeanor would change; my interests, behavior, and vocabulary were entirely contrived. I... Continue reading
