This album is a digital version of a hard copy album that was gifted to the City of Markham by Aksel Rinck during a mission to Germany in 2013; where he presented this to Mayor Scarpitti. Aksel personally created this album in the hopes that we could build on it and ensure there is an evolving record of the exchanges between our cities.
Aksel, along with the Markham Berczy Settlers Association, the Markham Historical Society and the Friends of Markham in Nördlingen have been instrumental in building and maintaining the partnership between the City of Markham and Nördlingen (a town in Bavaria, Germany) over the years. The exchanges and activities between Nordlingen and Markham would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of these community volunteers.
*This photo album will grow over time as our partnership evolves. Check back for the latest additions!
