Upcoming Road Improvements & Cycling Infrastructure

The City of Markham will be carrying out road improvements on several streets, including Calvert Road, Clegg Road, Allstate Parkway, Ferrier Street, and Gillingham Avenue & Elson Street, to accommodate the installation of cycling infrastructure. These improvements are part of the City's 5-year priority plan under the Active Transportation Master Plan, and will include new buffered bike lanes and other enhancements to promote safe cycling.

Project Overview

The City has retained Chisholm Fleming and Associates Ltd. (CFA) to provide consulting services for the detailed design of the following corridors:

Additionally, road improvements and traffic calming measures will be implemented on:

  • Main Street Markham (between Bullock Drive and 16th Avenue)
  • Carlton Road (between Kennedy Road and McCowan Road)

  • Construction Start Date: Summer 2025
