Thank you to everyone who joined City of Markham staff on May 14 2024 from 9:00 am - noon at the Thornhill Community Centre (7755 Bayview Ave) to learn more about the Secondary Plan project and provided your feedback.

You can still provided your comments in several ways:

1. You can view the April 18, 2024 CIM #1 Panels Material and engagement questions located under the “Document Tab” on the right-hand side of the page (or click here)
   • You can add your panel comments directly onto our interactive "Map" by clicking on the “Map” Tab located under the “How can I get involved" section towards the bottom of this webpage, or
   • Email your panel comments to the team to yongecorridor@markham.ca

The City of Markham is planning for the future of the Yonge Corridor!

What are we doing?

The City is studying the Yonge Corridor to determine the land use, parks, infrastructure, and community amenities (including schools) needed to support future growth.

Why are we doing it?

The City of Markham’s Official Plan, 2014, identifies two Key Development Areas (KDA) along the Yonge Corridor:

• Yonge Steeles Corridor KDA
• Yonge North Corridor KDA

The Yonge Corridor will also be serviced by the Yonge North Subway Extension (YNSE) and includes three Major Transit Station Areas/subway stations within the study area:

• Steeles;
• Clark; and
• Royal Orchard.

A new secondary plan is required to guide future growth and development.

What area is being studied?

The study area is located at the southwest corner of the City of Markham and is bordered by the City of Vaughan to the west and the City of Toronto to the south.

How can I get involved?

This is YOUR Yonge Corridor. We want to hear your ideas on how the secondary plan can address the needs of current and future residents to support a complete community. We invite you to:

• Subscribe to receive project updates by entering your email under the “Stay Informed” header;
• Participate in upcoming engagement events listed under “Upcoming Events”;
• Provide your input via the “Feedback” tab below; and
• Review reports and presentations in the Document Library on the right side of this page.
